For one month only, we’re playing host to campers and glampers from across the world. A rare treat for many an intrepid explorer, eager to be immersed in the world of rewilding.

Boothby is at the start of its nature restoration journey, offering a valuable insight into the planning stages and early interventions that will eventually transform into a dramatic rewilded landscape.

For those of you lucky enough to secure a camping or glamping spot, we’re hosting regular rewilding tours for our guests throughout August, alongside our weekly volunteering activities. Meet our expert team, join forces with our community supporters and indulge in the restorative effects of nature. What better way to spend your summer break!

Camping & Glamping Pop-Up | August 2024

  • Camping Pitches

    We are excited to be making 20 grass pitches available during August. Now you can combine your love of camping with your support for rewilding by staying in the heart of Boothby Wildland. Enjoy the restorative effects of nature with a few conveniences on hand, including hot showers, eco-toilets and drinking water. To complete the experience, be sure to book one of our rewilding tours!

  • Glamping

    Enjoy the rewilding experience with the reassuring comfort of a fully furnished yurt or tipi. We have three options: Small Yurt (sleeps 2), Tipi (sleeps 3) and Medium Yurt (sleeps 4), each with comfy beds, fresh linen, lanterns and outdoor seating. Yurts also come with a wood burning stove. Take advantage of a little well-deserved luxury. Hot showers, eco-toilets and drinking water on hand nearby.

  • The Annexe

    This 3 bedroom home-from-home includes a bathroom and two double bedrooms upstairs and a single bedroom and shower room downstairs. There is as an open plan kitchen-dining-living space and parking directly outside. You’ll be right in the heart of the action, next to our team headquarters at Boothby Lodge. Don’t forget to book a rewilding tour for the full experience.

Enjoy a Bird Ringing Demonstration

August 7, 14 and 21

Join our licensed bird ringers to see how birds are caught, ringed and measured before being released back into the wild. No experience needed for this 2 hour event where we hope to give you an up close encounter with some of our feathered residents and better understanding of how and why we ring birds here at Boothby. Take an amble back through our rewilding site with your guide for a cup of tea and a chance to ask any further questions.

  • Camping Check in: 13:00 – 19:00 | Check out 11:00

    Yurt and Annexe Check in: 16:00– 19:00 | Check out 11:00

    You’ll be sent detailed check-in instructions prior to arrival.

    Camping Pitches: You’ll be allocated a pitch number at booking, but feel free to choose any of the marked pitches on arrival.

    Yurts & Tipis: You’ll be allocated a yurt/tipi number at booking and will have a key to keep your yurt secure during your stay.

  • We are off- grid but are able to provide drinking water, hot water showers (solar & gas), composting toilets & urinals, and a dishwashing station.

    Glamping Inclusions: All yurts and tipis are tastefully and comfortably decorated with hand-woven rugs, rosewood tables, LED lanterns, sheepskins, cushions, a mirror, a clothes rail and hangers. They each have a double-sized raised and slatted bed with mattress. For bookings of 3 or 4 people, additional wooden framed single beds are provided. All bed linens are included. Please be sure to bring along your own towels, as these are not provided. A wood-burning stove will keep you toasty even if the weather turns cold. You can purchase kindling and wood as add-ons to your booking. Outside the yurt you will find a table and two chairs. Fire pits can be added to your booking as extras

  • Kids: Children under 7 cannot be accommodated on site at this time.

    Dogs: Must be kept on leads at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them. Please place bagged dog poo into the general waste bin.

    Vehicles: Cars should be parked in the campsite carpark (///carrots.hence.lonely), which is a short walk from the pitches. We have no provision for caravans or campervans.

    Visitors: Please notify us of any day visitors to the campsite during the booking process. We charge a day-rate of £5 per visitor. All day visitors must leave the site before 7pm.

    Quiet Times: 21:30 to 09:00. Please keep the noise down during these times, being mindful of your fellow campers and the surrounding nature.

    Out of Bounds: Outside of the campsite area, please stick to public rights of way and permissive routes as indicated on your pre-arrival map, unless you are on an official rewilding tour with a Nattergal team member.

    Rubbish: Please put all your food-waste, general waste and recycling in the appropriate bins as marked.

    Fires, Stoves & BBQs: Firepits and firewood (for heat or cooking) can be rented as add-ons to your booking. You may bring your own firepit, stove or BBQ, but it must be off-ground to avoid damage to the grass, and must not be used or stored inside a tent.

    First Aid: There is no permanent first-aider on site, but a first-aid kit is available by the shower block.

  • The Annexe has two double bedrooms and a bathroom with bath tub upstairs. There is a single bedroom and shower room downstairs. The living-dining-kitchen area is upstairs and includes a hob, oven, microwave, toaster and a fridge. Please bring all your own food.

    Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels.

  • We are offering regular Rewilding Tours during August and some Bird Ringing Demonstrations. Details and online booking is available here.

  • Belvoir Castle, Grimsthorpe Castle and Burghley House: three very impressive private estates within 30 minutes

    Belton House and Woolsthorpe Manor: National Trust properties also within 30 minutes

    Rutland Water | Anglian Water Parks: a plethora of outdoor activities, from an inflatable aqua park to cycle hire, fishing, wall climbing, a variety of water sports, and a boat ride out on the Rutland Belle to spot Ospreys. The internationally famous nature reserve provides one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in Great Britain, regularly holding in excess of 25,000 waterfowl. It is also home to the Rutland Osprey Project and is a fantastic place for birding and getting closer to nature.

    The Wildlife Trust’s Whisby Nature Park and Willow Tree Fen are both accessible for a day trip, as are RSPB Frampton March and RSPB Freiston Shore Marsh, Nene Washes and Deeping Lakes - all great for wildlife.
