Boothby Summer of Art

Hello! I’m Eve, a Fine Art student in my final year at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford - and artist-in-residence this summer at Boothby.

Hailing from a rural part of Devon, and having worked at a plant nursery for the last five years, I have become increasingly more interested in how the agricultural industry has impacted the British landscape - and the importance of rewilding initiatives in a time of climate breakdown.

As well as using the site as inspiration for my own work, I am passionate about community interaction and making art as accessible as possible. Therefore, this summer we launched the first ‘Boothby Summer of Art’, a project open to all, looking for artworks ‘inspired by Boothby Wildland’ to feature on the wonderful WildMap!

The community has come up with some wonderful responses to the site and its wildlife, which now forms a beautiful new data set on the WildMap.

You’ll also find a selection of submissions below. Thank you to everyone who has shared their artwork so far. We will continue accepting submissions until the end of September.
